Hi all - I'm fairly new to the karting scene as my 8 year old son has expressed a strong interest to race so have taken the plunge.. I've acquired a Zip Kart Cadet rolling chassis and am unsure which engine would be best suited. I've seen the Honda GX160 which has got decent reviews but most Zip karts have Comer engines.

Has anyone got experience of fitting the GX160 engine to a Zip chassis? This is my preferred engine as seems easier to get parts but don't want to buy one for it not to fit..

Thanks in advance, Dave

The chassis you have got will decide which engine type you fit. The Honda engine mounts on the left side of the chassis which has the dual mounting rails on the left. Opposite applies for a two stroke. The Comer engine was replaced with the IAME gazelle for racing some years ago.

Thankyou - I'm picking up the rolling chassis this afternoon so will have a look then.
