Higher rear sprocket = quicker out of corners, slower top end. Depends on which track for gearing though.

Was thinking of an 80rear as the track we use is tattershall and full of twisting corners and slow pulling out of them

Have no experience of Tattersall so can't really advise, but that's extremely high. I'd say start off at 75 and see how you get on. You can experiment throughout the course of the day

Best advice is to look online to see if any information on what to run.
If not send the kid out in a pack and then you’ll soon get a good idea if your too low or high, just remember however, always time to find in a driver πŸ‘πŸΌ

To add to the above, 1 or 2 teeth make quite a big difference. So if you are on a 73 and need to adjust slightly, go up or down 1 or 2 teeth.
