Just an update on the engine, believe it or not it only needed a pump kit and starter nut. Nothing else wrong with it. Tony at supertune reckons it is the after market starter gear causing the noise. Video below of the engine on the Dyno, said it’s running great 👍 grabbed a bit of a bargain in the end lol

Happy days defo sounded worse than it was then.

What power did it make.

Yeah it was a massive relief.. I can’t say I know mate, it was a family member that picked the engine up and he never got the data sheet. I was told it is pulling ridiculously well though. Will find out at clay pigeon raceway in couple weeks.

Oh that's good news! If the power figure is bottom right then it seemed to hit 32hp? Good one for power I would assume ;)👍

Well I’ve just been out in the kart at clay pigeon this weekend for the first time, top end it flies!! Struggling around the 12/12.5k rpm seems to stick there for a split second then kicks in again. May have been a set up issue. All a big learning experience.

Could be a jetting issue, what main jet was you running? Try and go up a jet or two.

I was running a 126 main jet, I did try a 128 but it started to misfire at low revs. So went back to 126. I have a feeling I should of moved my needle to position 5 maybe? Was at P4? I was running incorrect gearing too but didn’t have time to change as was in back to back heats with only 15 mins in between (wasn’t fun) 😂

What would be the optimum temp to run? The kart seemed it couldn’t get above 45°C with rad flap down. Could that of had an effect?

Off topic a bit but I'd be interested in your journey in NKC, it looks like a decent championship. Have you got a drivers journal/plan on documenting it?

55 ish then flap up to where you can keep it around there ideally, so I'm told. Defo can have a big effect on the engine, jetting and in general running.

If it was cold, say 10*c or below we put a few strips of tape across the bottom of the rad then adjust the temp with the flap.
