Hi everyone, I'm looking at replacing my sons brake disc, the old one looks warped! Original otk are very, expensive. I've found a few replacement discs priced between 50 and 70 quid. Does anyone know if these are equally as good - they look identical!

Thanks in advance.

I had the same dilemma. But then I just went OTK, I thought if it lasted me 2 seasons without issue then just get another one.

Advised to replace the carrier too, as they are known to crack over time (My one did).

@LE#99 any advice on aftermarket brake discs?

Not really, I've always used standard and not had issues and I'm not overly easy on the brakes lol

Standard as in OTK or aftermarket Lucas?

Standard otk on otk but by all accounts they need very careful and regular maintenance.

I've spent more time with ms kart tbh and they just need pads regularly and can stop a train.

Tbh I tend to rebuild master and caliper a few times a year, had issues before I started doing it regular. Pads last me a race day and a test day (177 life  ). All genuine bits.

Lol, yep, regular pad changes........ better than when I was in cadets and had to.change the discs regularly as well though

A lot of people seem to complain about the OTK brakes/pads/calipers/master cylinders. We never tended to have any issues with it, but as everyone's outlined above, regular maintenance seems to prevent issues.
That being said, I preferred the Freeline brake system on my Compkart. That thing was phenomenal...
