🧐Found this in the blue book about floor trays under the Rotax section...

16.6. There must be a floor made from suitably rigid durable material that stretches only from the central strut of the chassis frame to the front of the chassis frame, unless specified in Class Regulations and for Karts in Long Circuit trim when the floor must be at least from the central strut of the chassis frame to the front of the Kart. The minimum thickness of the floor tray must be 1.4mm for metallic, 1.5mm for composite and 3mm for plastic.

I did find something before about carbon etc but can't for the life of me find it!

I have messaged them to ask if there is a specific section in either Gold or Blue books which allow all the parts.

I have seen quite a few people with these carbon trays now though. Even Tillett make them!

Edit: Also carbon fibre seats, chain guards etc. All classed as composite?

Quick message back from Carbon Composites/1Carbon.

So I guess use them at our own risk @Billywatts :oops::LOL:

Hello Adam, thank you for your message. I have spent over two years trying to contact MSUK regarding these components, I have sent full details of all parts and no matter if I call, email, contact form nobody ever seems to be able to clarify the legalities or never get back. However we have some customers who are using multiple parts and even full rotax/otk kits without issues in msuk races. Unfortunately I can't say yes or no due to Msuk never clarifying. Apologies for this. Hopefully in the future they will allow carbon parts in a press release/ rulebook.

No worries! I have trawled both Gold and Blue books and all I can find is there is a minimum width for composite floor trays of 1.5mm. So I would assume that includes Carbon?! Not to mention the use of fibreglass seats, chain guards etc. Really appreciate the reply! Had a few members buy bits now

That's exactly it. 1.5mm minimum thickness for composite floor trays and that's it. I guess any scrutineers who question the parts have no actual documents to say otherwise. Yet again a gray area of motorsport. That's great to hear. Thank-you to you all for your support as always. We will be getting plenty more products to market soon

Might be worth looking into if I want to try to drop to 162s πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Aww I thought you liked it with us in fatboy class?!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Now you bring it up, for sure seems like a grey area. Never heard of anybody have issues with scrutineering though? Seen a fair few at Bayford with carbon trays now.

@1carbon is in! :p(y)
