My son (11) has been karting for a while, but now wants to get serious. How do we go about getting into a team or a sponsor to help us get him a kart. We are in Kent. TIA

Bayford will be the closest track for you guys, or maybe Buckmore?

If you want a test day or a taster session then you can find KRM down there (Talk to Rick or Ken, find them on Facebook). Or even @SaitMotorsportLtd can give you a day I'm sure! All a lovely bunch.

He goes to Bayford to the academy and has been told to do an academy race day. We spoke to Laurence at Sait and he was going to send me some prices, but heard nothing

Thereโ€™s rookie racing in Leicestershire and Alan Hoyle who helps a number of new starters.
He will give you unbiased advice assistance.

My son raced for saitmotorsport and won his first title with them.. solid team with a wealth of experience.
Definitely worth chasing up.... brilliant with kids starting out.

Also Lydd kart track is worth a try. If you give there kart shop a call you can hire a mini max kart from them with mechanic. You are probably looking around the ยฃ300 to ยฃ500 for kart hire and mechanic with most teams per day.

Give Charlie Folland a call also (Folland Racing) who is very reasonable and can offer a similar package. I know he certainly does Bayford.

Spoken to a few, looks like Iโ€™m going to have to get someone to sponsor him and do it that way, thanks all for advice. He has his first junior race at Bayford Saturday.

Good luck to him, thereโ€™s a decent grid there in the juniors, I would be there this Saturday for the superpro270 but Iโ€™m away this weekend for the Isle of Man TT
