Hi everyone I'm new here and would like to ask a question please, I have just taken up helmet painting as a hobby and I am on my third helmet, I've just bought a new omp gpk and want to paint it with a view to eventually selling it to make back the costs etc and hopefully pay toward the next helmet. The question is if I were to do a formula one replica would it be OK to put the sponsors on so it looks right ? Ie marlboro for example if it were a schumacher for example, or is this not allowed. I know it may be a simple question but I know nothing about karting regulations. Thanks in advance for any advice .

Well in general I guess you should be fine. But a guess a company could claim copyright if you are using their logo to make money? Grey area really.

The probability of you getting it trouble etc very low. But worth just having a google about copyright etc.

Oh yeah I never really thought about the copyright side of things . I wonder if they'd only chase big companies, I'll have to look into it thanks Adam.

I think you should be good as long as it's marketed as "replica" or "inspired by" etc. And not claiming to be an exact or an imposed counterfeit. As it would not be exactly the same.

Do you think it would be a called for thing in the karting world or do people just want their own designs ?

Personal preference I guess. However quite rare to see a replica lid on the track in all honesty. 80% custom, the other 20% left standard.
