hi, I'm looking to get my son into karting since he has just 8, I've no idea where to start, we have done a few sessions at our local karting Centre which has got him hooked. would buying him a kart be a good idea, if so what would be recommended? any advice would be helpful.

thanks
Chris

I'm not entirly sure what is up your way, but I would recommend maybe testing the water a little further with perhaps an outdoor rental kart championship?

My son started at a similar age with indoor karting at local Teamsport and then went on to do a cadet/junior rental kart championships for a season in which he progressed really well and enjoyed even more. So we then took the plunge and purchased him his own kart via a team who he races with at local club(s) level with in the Rotax Minimax class for now.

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the response, itโ€™s a TeamSport venue he goes to up here. Will definitely look more into it, thanks again.

For sure venture to a local Kart Club for some outdoor stuff before making the jump of owning your own setup. Then visit on a race days and have a look around the pits and have a chat to see what is raced locally in the desired age group etc. :)(y)
