Great stuff by George Russell, so glad he's got this opportunity. Gutted for Lewis, but least he's done his thing this year.

George Russell impressively set the pace on his practice debut for Mercedes standing in for Lewis Hamilton in Friday's opening session on F1's first experience of Bahrain's fast 'Outer' track at the Sakhir GP.

Gutted for him today. Really was on his game and if not for a "monumental #*+& up" by the Merc pit crew, and a level of luck usually reserved for Valteri he would surely have won and proven his credentials beyond doubt. As much as it would be good to see Lewis for the final race, I really hope he gets another opportunity.

I think George did really well this weekend and it was just some bad luck but he has definitely proved himself this weekend to be as fast or even faster than bottas and Verstapen

I know, great stuff to watch! Looks like Lewis is back in for the last race and George is back at Williams.

Just shows he deserves the shot for a drive at some point!

Just a shame what happend happend. However, it did show what he can do in a bad situation...twice lol.

See what 2021 will bring. I believe Bottas is signed again? But Hamilton isn't as of yet?

I can’t see Mercedes replacement Hamilton with Russel I can see them firing bottas at the end of next year and putting George in the seat
