Hi, newbie in need of help! I’ve bought my son a little too kart bambino with a comer c50. It starts and drives really well, I’m just a little concerned about the rotational noise coming from the clutch drum. Almost like the bearing is noisy but unsure about stripping it and thought some advice would put me right! I race Prokarts and the clutches have a bearing that I regularly maintain, any help would be fantastic 👍🏁
Many thanks
Andy

Hi Andy, welcome to the forum!

Different I know, but I strip, clean and inspect the clutch on my Rotax after every race/test day. Always worth a look! Always worth cleaning it all up and regrease the roller bearing.

So that being said I have never striped a C50 clutch before, but for sure worth your while doing so. If needed you can buy a full replacement kit below or even look on there for separate bits if needed.

@Team13Karting might be able to give you some more info?

I’m just going to have to get it apart and see what I’ve got! A few people have said the springs break and cause a noise. The clutch bites really strongly. I will strip it and see what I find! Appreciate the reply Adam 👍🏁

Upon strip down the clutch itself was like new, the roller bearing for the drum was dry as a bone hence causing the roughness when rotated. I’ve greased it up and is loads better but have bought a new bearing. At least it’s new then! On another note any suggestions on oil mix for the fuel? It’s a comer c50, I was told 25/1 but would rather tap into someone else’s knowledge and experience 👍
Many thanks in advance

Great stuff! Thanks for posting your findings. Every little bit of knowledge will help something else out at some point on here I'm sure.

ZipKart state 25/1 ratio indeed. So sticking with that spec should give you no issues at all. Then later on down the road follow whatever your engine builder says and recommends. Both on ratio and brand of oil used. Each builder usually has their own preference.

@Team13Karting not shown up yet with his Bambino knowledge and skills?!
