Hi all.
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this but I couldn't see anywhere that seemed appropriate.
I'm considering buying a used kart for me and my son to work on. Someone I know has one for sale for ยฃ500, They bought it as a project but have never got around to starting it.
As far as I'm aware, It's a complete kart which managed to get running when they first bought it.
I have no idea of the age or current condition of the Chasis, Engine or any other parts. I'm going to go and have a look at it in the next week or 2. I have no experience when it comes to buying or building Karts. I was wondering if anyone here would be good enough to answer a few questions for me.
1. Anything I'd need to look for that would make it, not worth buying at all.
2. Assuming at least the Chasis is sound but everything else needs replacing, roughly what would that cost? I'm not looking to build something with all top-spec parts, Just something we can take to a local track and have fun with.
No doubt there are questions I should be asking that I haven't thought of, so If I've missed something obvious, please point it out.
If anyone takes the time to help me out here... thanks in advance.
Matt
