Hi, I've recently been to some indoor arrive and drive karting tracks and feel like I did well considering that I haven't been karting for at least 10 years (I definitely need to make some improvements, especially with breaking and accelerating around corners). So I would like to know the best way into competitive karting if I want to compete in senior Rotax next year at a local or regional level. I have seen that the British Indoor Karting Championship has just begun but would like to know if it would be better to compete in that, as the way it is structured you get to practice while you qualify and they take your best 3 lap times across all the sessions you do, and then get a kart at the end of the year or to get my own kart and get some practice on outdoor tracks as I understand it can be a lot different due to weather? I understand that I will need to practice a lot to start competing next year or even to get a competitive score in the BIKC but I will be able to get out at least weekly for a few months, and then I should be able to do weekends or every other weekend from September. Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

Honestly. I would look at club100.

Itโ€™s still arrive and drive karting but they use Rotax Max engines and travel to a lot of the most popular out kart tracks.

Itโ€™s a good way to see if you still like it on a more competitive level without spending big money

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I had looked at club100 but wasn't too sure just mainly due to the fact that they are around half way through the season. But I agree that it would be a good way to try competitive racing to see if I like it (and how I do) so will book in for a test session just to see how the kart feels and then go from there, thank you for the suggestion.

I'm hopefully going out karting again next week so will try to improve my cornering a bit more before I get into a more powerful kart! :ROFLMAO:

We get a lot of people who dominate at their local tracks in hire karts and decide to try Club100 and get brought down to earth pretty quickly. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Club100 is definitely a cheaper option into 2stroke kart racing.
There nowhere near as quick as a senior rotax.

Club 100 also get booked up really quickly and the level of driving is insane, my advice as someone reasonably fresh to the scene is to see what the local tracks to you run in corporate karts and do a championship in those to learn much needed race craft, see how you get on with that before spending any serious money on equipment you might not ever use

Hi, thank you for your reply. I'm hoping to go to Stretton and Whilton Mill to do an arrive and drive session over the next month or so, to have a go in a kart outdoors, and so while I'm there I'll talk to them about any championships they run and see if I can get involved so I can improve my race craft as you have said, thank you for the suggestion.

If you have time this weekend pop over to whilton mill as its the club round.
There's a coupl6of dad's in our tent who do the corporate arrive and drive champs there I think.
You'll also see some reasonable drivers........maybe ๐Ÿ˜†

Hi, thank you for letting me know. I can't do the Sunday but may be able to do the Saturday depending on the weather (if it is a nice day I need to work on something and so wouldn't be able to make it). If I am able to come, do I need to sign up or register that I am going?
Thank you.
