my 18 year old son is now winning events at members nights in our local teamsport Cardiff and he's ready for something faster.
am i right in thinking he now needs a senior rotax 125 ?
I've been told i can take the kart to my local llandow or Pembrey circuits and just pay for the day ?
I'm a tad confused at what to buy him. i see things like tony kart, 7 kart, alonso kart etc for sale but don't know what is best.
any advice would be great at what he needs, where to buy, do people sell complete outfits with required trailer, spares, tools, stand etc ?

16+ is senior classes... if your local club has a rotax grid then a senior rotax is the weapon of choice.

Regarding chassis brands you can't go wrong with OTK.. which will be a tonykart or kosmic ect..

Ideally you would want a evo engine if you plan to race... pre evo engines are fine for a Sunday hack but if racing is the goal your want a evo.

Your pick up a good second hand evo package for around 2500k...

You can buy kart tool kits online or demontweeks for about 160ish..which will get you started.

Plenty for sale about really. If you want genuine sales advice, aftercare etc and a quality used Kart; talk to Lee at NextKarting. Great bunch and they don't sell :poop:

If I may, I would like to clarify. Evo for amateur weekend riding is not worth using and aspire to? Is pre evo enough? My son insists on the evo, but I'm not sure about it yet.

No need for Evo if you're not racing tbf. Pick what suits your budget and have fun!

Nice a good evo engine is worth 1500 or more... so that's not bad atall.
Is the engine sealed with a logbook?
