BMKR Final Round

With a few races under my belt, I had planned to start this in the 2022 season but after talking to @Adam and @Billywatts, I have decided to start now as it gives me something to do over the break πŸ˜‚

Qualifing - P5
The P5 in quali was a great start to the day as this was far and away my highest starting position. It was very wet and the track had very little running for the day. The conditions where extremely tough and I think this gave me a slight advantage. I was able to set a time of 58.00, just 1.5 seconds off pole. It also gave me a great run into turn 1 on the inside. However after the first 4 or so laps my visor fogged up and my times quickly fell off. In hindsight, as i could barely see 2 metres infront of me, regardless of what i tried to do, I probably should have come in.

Heat 1 - P4
Definitly my most successful session of the day and the P4 was a welcome surprise. Off the start, now equipped with some anti fog spray on my visor, I had a nice line on the inside of turn one and with a bit of jostling after turn 3, I came out in P4. However a few laps later, I lost the position again. By this point the race was well underway and the pack had spread out abit and the race settled down. It was a clear breeze to the finish. However due to someone ahead of me getting a drop down penalty, i got bumped up to 4th.

Heat 2 - P8
Starting P4 in this heat I was on the second row of the grid and on the outside into turn one. This ended up being a downside as wasn't able to tuck into the inside in turn one and due to the conditions I wasn't able to get a clean line round the outside, losing a few places in the first corner. Trying to get them back, I outbreaked myself into the second corner, locking up the rears I spun, placing me last. Over the next 7 laps I was able to make my way up to 6th place but in trying to make a move for 5th towards the end, I spun allowing people to pass me, placing me in 8th.

Grand Final - P9
In the grand final, I was starting p8. I was able to make up a few places over the first lap ending up in 6th place and then after a few laps managed to make my way into 5th and was able to keep that place for several laps. However in the final few laps driver number 36 was able to get past me and in my atempts to get the place back, I spun again dropping down to P7. After the race, I found I had a drop down penalty so ended up in 9th place.

Summary
Although it was disappointing ending the day with P9, I am still very happy with it as it was my first 177 race and the conditions of the day where challenging to say the least. Considering my pace throughout the day, aside from a few stupid moves resulting in spins, it was a very good weekend. I'm looking forward to next years season and looking forward to getting back in the seatin February.

Thank you once again to DG Racing and Dave himself for all the help throughout the past races.
