Technical MyChron 5 Battery Life?

The last MyChron we ran yeeaaars back was a MyChron 3 and the battery would last weeks if not months if I remember! Recently picked myself up a MyChron 5 and what a step forward in terms of features.

I was wondering the realistic life of the battery? Are we talking it will last all day or a lot less? Mychron say "The MyChron5 rechargeable lithium battery lasts more than ten hours".

Also, I havn't seen anybody run the external power cable which runs on the kart battery? Any reason as to why?

Any help much appreciated!

Ive has a mychron5 for years and you can comfortably get a days racing out of one charge. We still do 4years down the line with the orginal battery

Thanks for the reply! I can now confirm indeed the battery is great. Easy do a days racing/testing and have well over 50% charge left.

We have the same experience, one charge could go 2 full days or 3 afternoons... Several Mychrons after 5 years with the original battery. The only thing needs external voltage is the lambda sensor. All the other stuff can run on the logger's battery.

We used to have the old mychron and used to get ages from it. We moved to Unipro and would get months maybe half a year out of it, now it’s alfano and get ages out of it as well.

Our Mychron 5 battery easily does a weekend but no matter how long you leave it charging it only reads around 85% charged

Could possible be a faulty battery! I have 2x now, so I always have a spare just in case one decides to die on me!
